In the samples of water taken on the Khalalaktyr beach in Kamchatka, only traces of fuel and lubricants were found, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported.

The forensics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Kamchatka Territory took samples and did not find any toxic substances in them, the department claims. The study of atmospheric air also did not establish pollution.

The prosecutor's office of the Kamchatka Territory sent the results of the audit to initiate a criminal case due to pollution of water bodies in the region. Signs of pollution were also not found on the territory of the Radygin Military training ground.

In early October, the inhabitants of Kamchatka began to publish in social networks photographs of the coast near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, strewn with dead marine animals. Cerfer and tourists who visited the beach area complained about a deterioration in condition and chemical burns. Scientists have found that as a result of water pollution, 95% of the inhabitants of the sea bottom of the Avachinsky bay died .

Initially, it was reported that in the samples of water from the coast, a four -fold exceeding the permissible concentration of oil products and a double exceeding the phenol norm was exceeded.

The Governor of Kamchatka Vladimir Solodov called the three possible causes of what happened - a spill of toxic substances, natural exposure or seismic activity.
