The Jewish Film Festival will be held for the first time in St. Petersburg

From October 12 to 17, on the island of New Holland, in the Cinema "Angletter" and the movie House the films of the 1st Petersburg Jewish Film Festival will be shown.

According to the organizers, the festival program includes the best artistic, documentary and short paintings of the 4th and 5th Moscow Jewish film festivals held in 2018 and 2019. Many of them were presented at film festivals in Toronto, Beijing, Hong Kong, Saloniki, Tribeca, Sundance, Hot Docs and other major international film festivals.

The opening film of the 1st St. Petersburg Jewish Film Festival will be the “translator” of Martin Shulik (Slovakia)-Road-Muid with a trip deep into the good old Europe, which irrevocably changed after the Second World War. The world premiere of the film took place on Berlinal 2018, in Russia the film was shown at the 5th Moscow Jewish festival in 2019.

At the closure of the festival, the winner of the 5th Moscow Jewish Film Festival "Enordodox" of the Israeli director Eliran Malkka, about the stir for freedom of choice and the problem of discrimination on a national basis, will be shown. The picture was also presented at the Beijing International Film Festival in 2019.
