In the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, a state of emergency has been announced. Military units and military equipment are introduced into the city. The corresponding decree was signed by the President of the country, Uzoronbai Jeenbekov.

The document says, in particular, that the military will take up the organization of blocks and the suppression of armed clashes. The state of emergency will begin to operate from 20:00 local time on October 9 to 8:00 on October 21. The commandant of Bishkek at this time was appointed Deputy Minister of the Interior Almazbek Orozaliev.

The Kyrgyz Service Radio Liberty writes that unknown people tore off the rally of supporters of the former president Almazbek Atambayev in the center of Bishkek. During the speech of politicians, unknown people approached the square. There was a brawl, people threw stones and plastic bottles into each other. The Interfax agency reports that the attackers fired at Atambayev’s car when he left the rally. Information about the attempt on the ex-president was confirmed by his assistant.
