The Okulovsky District Court of the Novgorod Region fined Yury Korovin, a surgeon at the Okulovsky Hospital, 50,000 rubles in connection with receiving assistance from the Alliance of Doctors trade union. This is reported by the publication "North-West. MBKh media” with reference to Dmitry Sokolov, chairman of the Alliance of Doctors trade union.
An administrative case against Korovin was initiated under the article on violation of the provision of sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the population (Article 6.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). According to the case file, Korovin endangered the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population by accepting blood pressure monitors, mercury-free thermometers, an electric kettle, a stove and a microwave oven from volunteers during the COVID-19 pandemic. According to law enforcement agencies, the head of the surgical department of the Okulovskaya Central District Hospital, Yuri Korovin, violated the sanitary and epidemiological regime when, in August 2020, he met in the surgical department with the chairman of the Alliance of Doctors trade union, Dmitry Sokolov.
Korovin himself, as a member of the Alliance of Doctors, connects this case with his political position. He plans to appeal the court's decision. “I think it was someone in the regional prosecutor’s office who saw the photo [ for a report on the transfer of assistance - OVD-Info ] and, since there was nothing more to complain about, he decided to punish for violating the sanitary and epidemiological regime,” MBKh media reports the words of the surgeon .
Earlier, the court fined eight volunteers of the Alliance of Doctors 5,000 rubles each for violating the self-isolation regime (part 1 of article 20.6.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). They brought masks and other personal protective equipment to the doctors of this hospital.
