In Russia, a new anti-record - 16,319 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded per day. On October 20, the operational headquarters published statistics a few hours later than usual.
Among the new cases, 4999 are in Moscow, 695 are in St. Petersburg, and 426 are in the Moscow region. The top 5 regions in terms of the largest growth also included the Nizhny Novgorod and Rostov regions (366 and 353, respectively).
Also, 269 deaths were recorded per day.
In total, the country recorded a total of 1.4 million infected and 24.6 thousand deaths from COVID-19.
Just today, demographer Alexei Raksha, dismissed from Rosstat in the summer , told Bloomberg that the data on deaths from the pandemic in Russia are unreliable and should be multiplied by three.
