- They bring oxygen cylinders. Hypothetically, oxygen consumption increased, they could overshadow how many cylinders were left, or came to where they take it, but they are not there, ”the doctor argues.

In 2019, Bashtyrev was criminalized for buying an autonomous oxygen station for the perinatal center and refused centralized supplies. The Investigative Committee tried to blame the doctor of the fact that the hospital received oxygen, which was not registered as a drug. But in the end, the criminal case was closed, and Bushtyrev was apologized.

He says that he heard from his colleagues information confirming the media version about the incident in GB No. 20.

“Yes, I talked with former colleagues, they say that everything was like that,” says Bushtyrev. - Unfortunately, it is impossible to save the patient without oxygen. Our lungs are designed for 21% oxygen in the air, if there is a lesion of 50% of the lungs, the lack of oxygen is a threat to the body. Hypoxia develops, oxygen is not enough for metabolic processes, then asphyxia and death occur.

In this regard, the honored doctor of Russia does not see the prospects of the criminal case - it will be impossible to prove what the patients actually died from.

- Ultimately, we all die from asphyxiation. Whether it is a heart attack or other lesions - the heart stops pumping blood, oxygen ends, and a person dies.

The only suspicious fact in this story, if it took place, can be the time of death.

The death of 11 people at once for an hour, when - presumably - there was no oxygen in the hospital, the investigators should alert, ”says Valery Bushtyrev.
