Anarchist Azat Miftakhov interrogated in the case of manufacturing explosives

Anarchist Azat Miftakhov was interrogated in the case of the manufacture of explosives (part 1 of article 223.1 of the Criminal Code) as a witness. This was reported by his lawyer from OVD-Info Svetlana Sidorkina.

The interrogation was conducted on the episode about the explosive found in Balashikha near the police department. In February 2019, when Miftakhov was detained in the case of an explosive device, this episode did not appear in the decision to initiate a case, Sidorkina clarifies. Then it was about a device found in the forest on the territory of Balashikha.

In April 2019, in the Balashikha microdistrict, near the police department, they found an explosive device covered with snow. At that time, Miftakhov was already in jail. As Interfax and Baza wrote , the explosive had been there for several months. The exact circumstances of how the device was found are unknown.

The investigation connects the new explosive device with Azat Miftakhov in the same way as during the first search: “They refer to the fact that wires were found in his dormitory, or rather, in the garbage container [of the dormitory], and that they are allegedly related to Azat. There is no direct causal relationship, how they are going to prove it - I don’t know, ”explains Sidorkina.

According to the lawyer, the investigator "does not hide the fact that he is going to interrogate [Miftakhov] as a suspect and bring charges."

• On February 1, 2019, Miftakhov was detained in the case of the manufacture of explosives (part 1 of article 223.1 of the Criminal Code). He was taken to the Balashikha police department, where, according to him, he was tortured with a screwdriver. On February 4, the court was supposed to choose a preventive measure for the anarchist in the case, but the meeting was postponed for 72 hours - the investigation did not provide data proving the need for his arrest, the prosecutor claimed.
• On February 7, Miftakhov was released from the police department, but was detained again - this time in the case of a broken window in the United Russia office. The investigation into the case was suspended in September 2018. According to investigators, on January 30, 2018, Miftakhov, Andrey Eikin, Elena Gorban and Alexei Kobaidze broke a window in the United Russia office and threw a smoke bomb into it. Miftakhov was charged with hooliganism (part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code) and sent under arrest. Evidence of his involvement in the window incident came from the testimony of a classified witness who claimed to have recognized the anarchist by his "expressive eyebrows."
