Former vice-president of Euroset Boris Levin was arrested in Moscow for murder

The Khoroshevsky District Court of Moscow arrested the former vice-president of Euroset Boris Levin in a murder case. this TASS reports with reference to the press service of the court.

According to the case file , Levin is accused of murdering two or more people (clause “a” of part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code). According to the agency, the former vice president of the company was sent to pre-trial detention until November 6. No other details are provided.

In 2008, Levin, who then served as vice president of Euroset, was arrested on charges of kidnapping the company's former delivery driver Andrei Vlaskin and extorting money from him and another driver, Dmitry Smurgin. They also tried to involve entrepreneur and founder of Euroset Evgeny Chichvarkin in the extortion case.

According to investigators , in 2003, Levin suspected that Vlaskin and his partner Smurgin took advantage of poor inventory of goods in the warehouse and stole mobile phones and accessories worth “large sums of money.” After that, according to the Investigative Committee, with the consent of Chichvarkin, threatening the drivers and their relatives, he took money and property worth more than 13 million rubles from Vlaskin and Smurgin.

The jury acquitted Levin and his other colleagues. In 2011, the case against Chichvarkin was also dropped. The former vice-president of Euroset sued the Ministry of Finance for 20 million rubles for illegal criminal prosecution.
