Participants in protests in support of ex-governor Sergei Furgal were detained in Khabarovsk

In Khabarovsk, two participants in protests in support of ex-governor Sergei Furgal were detained. Eyewitnesses and one of the detainees told OVD-Info about this.

At about 11:30 local time, at the exit from the special detention center, the police met Natalya Golobokova, who was released after serving an administrative arrest due to the September 28 action. Golobokova was again charged with an article of arrest because of another action and the woman was returned to the detention center to await trial, which is scheduled for October 26.

Then, at about 4 p.m. local time, Valery Skripalshchikov was detained. The policemen did not explain what part of the article on participation in uncoordinated events (Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) they impute to him, and because of what action. Skripalshchikov was taken to Police Department No. 4, he was consulted by a senior lawyer at OVD-Info, Nadezhda Kuzina.

12:13 A protocol was drawn up against Valery Skripalshchikov under the article on participation in an unsanctioned action that interfered with the infrastructure (part of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), and was taken to a special detention center until the trial, scheduled for October 26. This was reported to the OVD-Info hotline, Skripalshchikov himself stopped communicating.

On October 26, Skripalshchikov was arrested for 10 days under the article on repeated violation of the rally legislation (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

• On October 19, the Central District Court of Khabarovsk appointed Natalya Golobokova seven days of arrest under the article on participation in an uncoordinated action that interfered with the infrastructure (part 6.1 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). She was defended by a lawyer from OVD-Info Evgeny Yurchenko. Earlier, the same court fined her 19 thousand rubles under the article on violation of the procedure for holding a public event (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) due to participation in the September 11 rally.
• On September 15, Valery Skripalshchikov was fined 5,000 rubles under the article on participation in an unsanctioned action that interfered with the movement of vehicles and pedestrians (part 6.1 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), because of the march on August 18.
• Since July 11, rallies have been held in the Khabarovsk Territory and other regions of the country in support of the arrested ex-governor Sergei Furgal. Until about July 18, the police almost did not try to interfere with the protesters, but later law enforcement officers began to detain the protesters and initiate administrative cases against them in Khabarovsk , Vladivostok , Komsomolsk-on-Amur , Yekaterinburg , Chelyabinsk , Voronezh , Sochi , Perm , Irkutsk , Novosibirsk and others cities.
• On July 9, the then-governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Sergei Furgal, was detained by the FSB on suspicion of involvement in a number of contract killings. He was taken to Moscow, where he was placed in custody. On July 20, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on Furgal's resignation from the post of governor and appointed Mikhail Degtyarev, Furgal's fellow party member in the Liberal Democratic Party, to this post. In early September, Furgal's arrest was extended for three months, the meeting was held behind closed doors.
