
The inhabitants of Minsk reached an unauthorized protest announced by the Belarusian opposition on the last day of the "People’s ultimatum" Alexander Lukashenko. The opposition claims more than 100 thousand protests, Interfax reports.
The number of detainees in unauthorized protests in Belarus exceeded 100 people. According to eyewitnesses, most people were detained in Grodno and in Minsk. The detentions also took place in Lida, Mogilev and other cities. In the Belarusian capital, detention continues.
The most actively people were detained on Oryol Street in Minsk, where about ten cotton were sounded, and then shots were heard. Several people suffered. The ambulance teams work on the spot.
The Belarusian security forces completely blocked in the center of Minsk Orlovskaya Street near the Independence Palace, the residence of the President of the country Alexander Lukashenko, in the direction of which the column of participants in the action headed, the TASS correspondent reports from the scene. The demonstrators came close to the Cordon of law enforcement at the Independence Palace.
Two cotton, similar to shots, were heard at the cordon near the residence of Lukashenko. According to eyewitnesses, the participants of the action came close to the cordon of the president’s residence. There are exhibited barriers of the "line" system. The protesters tried to conduct a dialogue with the security forces, but the conversation did not set. One of the protesters tried to detain him, supporters recaptured him. Protesting began to depart from the residence. The way was blocked by the auto -zaks.
Later, eyewitnesses spoke about the use of light -school grenades near the Central Military District of Minsk, where a column of participants in the action took place. People began to scatter around the surrounding courtyards. After that, several more cottages were heard in the RUVD area. There is no information about the victims.
The security forces in the center of Minsk are trying to prevent the movement of the column on Independence Avenue, blocking the site next to the Victory Square. As the agency correspondent reports, a column of several hundred protesters advanced along Lenin Street in the direction of the Sports Palace, security officials blocked the road. The carriageway was blocked by several police trucks and water bodies. The security forces lined up in a live chain next to the international street. They demand from the protesters to disperse.
In turn, supporters of the opposition also rented hands and began to form a living chain so as not to allow the security forces to detain the participants in the action.
Meanwhile, several hundred people move in columns from the Square of Freedom to the sides of the Steel Minsk City Hero. They went to the roadway of Prospekt winners. While no one blocks the road to them.
Armored vehicles were introduced into the center of Minsk to protect the residence of Lukashenko. According to the agency, eyewitnesses reported, the ten armored personnel carriers drove into the residence and settled around the perimeter. The area and approaches to the building are cordoned off by security forces.
On other squares in the center of Minsk on Sunday, safety measures were also strengthened. The number of special equipment in the center of the Belarusian capital compared to past protests increased markedly. On the main streets of the city, more than ten units of barriers and water bodies are on duty.
The Independence Square and Oktyabrskaya Square are cordoned off with metal fences. The prickly wire is deployed around the perimeter, the security forces in camouflage and body armor are on duty. Some of them have Kalashnikov assault rifles. Passers -by are not allowed there.
On Independence Avenue, several trucks are parked under the bridge in the Moskovskaya Street Street, as well as the barriers of the Rubezh system and two water -flows. The passage under the bridge towards the railway station is closed. The security forces block the congresses on the avenue from the adjacent streets.
The area around the Museum of the Great Patriotic War and the adjacent park is also cordoned off. The military lined up around the perimeter in field equipment with weapons. Belarusian human rights activists said that they know the names of 14 detainees during protest actions in Belarus on Sunday, more than more of them. In particular, two photojournalists of the Belarusian media who were preparing to cover protests were detained near the Square of Freedom. Law enforcement officers approached them and asked to follow them on the bus.
The Belarusian Association of Journalists (Bazh) later reported that photographers of Komsomolskaya Pravda and the publication of the Nova Has Svyatoslav Zorky and Dmitry Dmitriev were detained.
Promotions are held in other cities of the country. The human rights center "Vesna" reported about 17 detainees in Borisov. A protest promotion also takes place in Grodno, people chant the “strike”. Since August 9, mass protests on the results of the presidential elections have been continuing in Belarus, whose winner was announced by the current head of state Alexander Lukashenko. The opposition does not recognize the election results announced by the authorities, considers them to be falsified.
Especially the mass performances of the opposition take place in Minsk on Sundays.
On October 13, Tikhanovskaya set the ultimatum Lukashenko: until October 25, he must announce his departure, otherwise the "national strike of all enterprises, the blocking of all roads, the collapse of sales in state stores will be started."
Among the requirements are also the release of all political prisoners and the cessation of "violence on the streets."
