Protesters against the abortion ban in Poland began to block roads

Participants in protests against the ban on abortion in Poland temporarily blocked roads in different cities of the country. This was reported by the Polish publication Onet.

In Warsaw, road blocking began shortly before the evening rush hour. Pedestrians, cyclists and motorists took part in it. As a result, traffic in the city center practically stopped for several hours.

Traffic on the roads was blocked in other cities of the country, including Krakow, Szczecin and Wroclaw, Onet reports. According to BBC News, protesters blocked roads in a total of 50 cities in Poland.

Protests in Poland have been going on for five days. They began after the Constitutional Court declared illegal a woman’s right to an abortion in the event of an incurable disease or irreversible disability of the fetus. 98% of all legal abortions in Poland were performed on this basis.
