The court found the activist guilty under the article on foreign agents (Article 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) because she did not write about the inclusion of Genesis in the register of "foreign agents" on the project's Instagram page.

“In the last three posts on Instagram on the project page, it is not indicated that Genesis is a foreign agent. Although they don’t mention the foundation itself, who in our courts cares about logic?” - the publication quotes the words of Dzeytova-Tangieva.

The court has also already imposed a fine of 300 thousand rubles on the Genesis Foundation itself due to the fact that the organization did not ask to be included in the register of NGOs acting as a foreign agent.

• The Ministry of Justice included the public fund for social development "Genesis" in the register in December 2019. The Foundation is engaged in peace education, the formation of tolerance and intercultural dialogue in the North Caucasus, the website says.

To be included in the register, the Ministry of Justice needs to establish that the NPO receives funding from abroad and is engaged in “political activities”.
