In Bashkiria, a court fined a boarding school where an outbreak of COVID-19 occurred one hundred thousand rubles.

In Bashkiria, the court of the Ishimbay district fined a psychoneurological boarding school 100 thousand rubles after an outbreak of coronavirus among the residents and employees of the institution. This was reported by the press service of the court.

The PNI organized an epidemiological investigation after reports that 108 residents and 39 employees fell ill at the institution. According to the court, at the end of July, the first cases of COVID-19 infection were detected in the boarding school, but the premises were not disinfected and not everyone’s temperature was taken.

In addition, the PNI management did not promptly transmit information about patients with symptoms of ARVI and coronavirus, and infectious patients were not registered.

“The judge believes that this administrative violation cannot be considered insignificant, since it really created a threat to the life and health of the social service recipients [recipients of social services] and boarding school workers, as well as the threat of the emergence and spread of diseases,” the court’s conclusion says.

The PNI did not take measures to prevent violations of sanitary rules and did not monitor the actions of the institution’s employees, the judge concluded.

The boarding school was found guilty under Part 2 of Article 6.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. Punishment under this article for legal entities provides for a fine in the amount of two hundred to five hundred thousand rubles or administrative suspension of activities for up to ninety days.

According to the Bashinform agency, the acting director of the boarding school partially admitted his guilt, and also asked the judge to take into account the difficult financial situation of the institution - the boarding school has loan debt in the amount of 7.8 million rubles.
