In Crimea, three more defendants in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case were given limited time to familiarize themselves with the case materials.

On October 26, the Kiev District Court of Simferopol limited the terms for familiarization with the case materials to the defendants in the case of the second Simferopol case of Hizb ut-Tahrir Seitveli Seitabdiev, Rustem Seitkhalilov and Akim Bekirov. This was reported by the human rights project "Crimean Solidarity".

The court partially granted the request of FSB investigator Sergei Makhnev, limiting the time for the defendants to familiarize themselves with the case until November 20, while the prosecution asked for November 2 as the deadline.

The investigator motivated his request by the fact that the defense side is allegedly delaying familiarization with the case. “In fact, the investigator does not create conditions for quickly and effectively getting acquainted with this case. It is very voluminous, more than fifty volumes,” Bekirov’s lawyer Siyar Panich said.

Lawyers also complain that only two laptops and two pairs of headphones were allocated for familiarization with audio and video materials, while there are a total of 25 defendants in the case.

In addition, Sergei Legostov, Seitkhalilov's lawyer, told Crimean Solidarity in a report that his client complains of constant headaches and general health in the pre-trial detention center.

Thus, in October, familiarization with the case materials was reduced for at least fourteen defendants in the second Simferopol case of Hizb ut-Tahrir. On October 23, the deadlines limited Rama Aivazov, Osman Arithmemetov, Escener Suleimanov and Ruslan Suleimanov , October 19 - Shaban Umarov, Remzi Bekirov, Farroda Bazarov and Riza Izetov , October 22 - Yashar Mudinov and Rustem Sheikhalieva , and on October 23 to Enver Mametova .

• The defendants in the second Simferopol case of Hizb ut-Tahrir are accused of involvement in the activities of a terrorist organization (Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code) and preparations for a violent seizure of power (Article 278 of the Criminal Code with the application of Part 1 of Article 30 of the Criminal Code). In total, 29 Crimean Tatars are being tried in the second Simferopol case of Hizb ut-Tahrir, 25 of them are in a pre-trial detention center, four are wanted.
• Hizb ut-Tahrir was recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia. In this regard, criminal cases are initiated in different regions of the country, while the defendants are sentenced to various terms in a strict regime colony only on the basis that they met in apartments, read religious literature and spread their ideas. The SOVA Information and Analytical Center believes that Hizb ut-Tahrir is unlawfully recognized as a terrorist organization, and its members should not be prosecuted solely on the basis of party activities (holding meetings, reading literature, etc.).
