The Lyublinsky District Court of Moscow extended the preventive measure for the creator of the public page “Police Ombudsman” Vladimir Vorontsov. TASS reports this with reference to lawyer Alexander Samukhov.

Vorontsov was left in pre-trial detention until at least January 21, 2021.

As of August, Vorontsov’s defenders report fourteen episodes of persecution: two cases under Article 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Extortion”), three more under Article 242 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Illegal production and circulation of pornographic materials”), one case under Part. 2 tbsp. 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Slander”), for which the statute of limitations has already expired, and eight more cases under Art. 319 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Insulting government officials”).

On May 7,they came to Vorontsov’s apartment with a search, and the security forces entered the apartment through a window, descending from the roof on ropes. The next day, the court sent the “police ombudsman” to a pre-trial detention center under charges of extortion.
