On Sakhalin, the criminal case of participants in the public association "The Union of the Slavic Forces of Rus'" ("Citizens of the USSR"), recognized in Russia prohibited, was submitted to the court, the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the region said. They are pursued for not considering themselves citizens of the Russian Federation.
Members of this organization deny the existence of the laws of the Russian Federation and, for example, do not recognize official documents, including identification, or refuse to pay utility bills. Experts equated the association with the "occult neopagan flow with elements of the religious sect."
Police officers believe that in 2019, two participants in this association from the Sakhalin Region controlled the work of other participants in the organization in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Kholmsk and Korsakov, and also attracted new participants to the movement. Employees of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have opened criminal cases on them on the organization of the activities of an extremist organization (Article 282.2 of Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
