The Moscow region has reinstated mandatory self-isolation for the elderly

From Monday, November 2, until November 15, self-isolation for people over 65 years of age again becomes mandatory in the Moscow region due to the coronavirus.

This was announced on the air of Rossiya-24 on Saturday by the governor of the Moscow region Andrey Vorobyov. “The most difficult situation in the beds is 65+. The fact is that this age gets sick harder and longer, so we had a recommendation to stay at home, and from Monday we will definitely introduce this, ”said Vorobyov. He clarified that there are enough beds in the region, taking into account the additional ones created.

Since September 28, a recommendatory self-isolation regime for the elderly has been in effect in the region. But even with a mandatory regime, it is not forbidden for the elderly to go to the store and go for walks, transport cards will not be blocked for them. “Still more self-control and self-discipline. It is extremely important for us that each of us take care of those who have reached retirement age and older,” the governor said.

The Moscow region is in second place after Moscow in terms of the number of people infected in Russia. In total, 86,286 cases of infection were detected, 64,230 people recovered, 1,599 died. On Saturday, 535 new cases were recorded in the region.

Self-isolation for the elderly in the Moscow region was valid from March 26 to August 24.
