In August, the publication, citing an unnamed source , reported that Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov signed an order regarding Kuryakov’s incomplete official compliance because of a press conference about the results of the investigation into the death of the Dyatlov group.

The Former Investigator telegram channel published a document stating that Kuryakov, the leader of the group that resumed the investigation, participated in the press conference “for personal purposes, due to the preparation of his dissertation for the degree of candidate of legal sciences.” The decree stated that the prosecutor acted beyond the scope of his powers and without instructions from management.

Another source of the publication in regional law enforcement agencies noted that Kuryakov tried to promote his wife Venera Kuryakova to the post of prosecutor of Yekaterinburg. She worked as a deputy city prosecutor. After the check, the woman was fired, Kommersant clarified.
