Danil Beglets, a defendant in the “Moscow case,” was released

The person involved in the "Moscow case" Danil Beglets was released from the colony-settlement in Mtsensk, Oryol region. This was reported by the head of the international human rights group "Agora" Pavel Chikov with reference to the lawyer Leonid Solovyov who met the Fugitive.

In early October 2020, the Mtsensk Court granted the petition for parole (parole) of the Fugitive from a colony-settlement in the Oryol region. The prosecutor's office and the administration of the colony were against parole. Thus, in its characterization, the administration noted that it considers it “inappropriate” to grant him parole because of the instability of his behavior. However, the prosecutor's office did not appeal this decision of the court.

The fugitive spent 451 days behind bars - from the moment of his arrest to the transfer to a colony-settlement from a general regime colony, Chikov noted.

• On September 3, 2019, the Tverskoy Court of Moscow sentenced Beglets to two years in prison under the article on the use of violence against a representative of the authorities (part 1 of article 318 of the Criminal Code). According to the prosecution, during a rally on July 27, 2019 for the admission of independent candidates to the Moscow City Duma, the Runaway grabbed a policeman by the wrist and “strongly squeezed him and pulled him aside.” In court, he admitted his guilt and asked the investigation to consider the case in a special order.
• Earlier, Runaway apologized to the injured security official, after which the lawyer of the protester on July 27 petitioned for the case to be dismissed due to the reconciliation of the parties. However, the policeman refused to confirm the fact of reconciliation.
