The activist was found guilty under the article on participation in an uncoordinated action (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code) due to the August 17 gathering for the resignation of the head of the Ishimbay district, Azamat Abdrakhmanov.
“It was not a rally, but a peaceful gathering, but the police still interpreted it as if I was shouting slogans for Abdrakhmanov’s resignation. Then I simply gave my comment from the action on a video camera,” the publication quotes Yanberdina as saying.
Earlier, the Ishimbay court twice fined Farit Rakhmatullov, an elderly participant in similar actions, 20 thousand rubles. He was charged with organizing two rallies. Local activists collected money to pay his fines in less than 24 hours.
