60-year-old Jehovah's Witness, who was searched, died after a trip to court

Yuri Kim, a Jehovah's Witness from Nikolsk (Penza region), died after a trip to court, where he became familiar with the order to search his home. The website “Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia” reports this.

On October 11, searches were carried out in Nikolsk in at least four houses of Jehovah's Witnesses, including the apartment of 60-year-old believer Yuri Kim.

It is known that Kim was a suspect under the article on organizing the activities of an extremist organization (Part 1 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code). He was given a written undertaking not to leave the place.

On October 30, Kim went to the Pervomaisky District Court of Penza, which issued a warrant to search the believer’s home. As the website of the religious organization clarifies, upon returning home from Penza, which is located 120 kilometers from Nikolsk, Kim became ill. Jehovah's Witness was paralyzed and lost consciousness. Soon the believer died.

• In April 2017, the Supreme Court recognized the Administrative Center of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia as an extremist organization and banned its activities throughout the country. In August of the same year, all communities of Jehovah's Witnesses were added to the list of prohibited ones. After this, a stream of criminal cases against representatives of the confession began.
