In Khabarovsk, police and traffic police dispersed a column of protesters who were walking along the street, chanting “Khabarovsk come out!” This is reported by the Activatica website.
The crackdown was broadcast on the Angel ID YouTube channel. As activists say, when the column was walking along Lenin Street, 5 police carriages drove up to them. Several people were reportedly dragged into police vehicles, but the exact number of arrests is unknown.
“They jumped out, began to grab and detain people who were standing at the bus stop, and began to chase them. The employees did not provide any legal demands, they simply attacked,” said the person hosting the YouTube broadcast.
Oksana Kulyapina, a member of a support group for detainees in Khabarovsk, told OVD-Info that they know for sure about one detainee. He was taken to police department No. 4. His name is still unknown.
14:40 OVD-Info was contacted by an activist who was detained on Lenin Street. He asked not to give his name. He was taken to police station No. 4. He has no information whether any other protesters were detained. Javanshir Barkhu is also in the department with him: it is not yet known why he was detained.
A lawyer from OVD-Info, Andrei Bityutsky, went to the department to see the detainee.
17:00 Protocols were drawn up against both detainees regarding their participation in an uncoordinated action on November 2, which resulted in interference with the movement of pedestrians and vehicles (Part 6.1 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code). They were taken to a special detention center, where they will be kept until the trial, which will take place on November 4, says lawyer Andrei Bityutsky.
