A resident of Novosibirsk entered the city center with posters "Mayor-communist destroying the Soviet heritage!" And "Shame Gio Okn NSO!". Gio OKN NSO is the abbreviated name of the State Inspectorate for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of the Novosibirsk Region, established by the Government of the region.

The owner of the site on which the cinema is located, the company Park Victory acquired real estate in January 2018 for the construction of a high -rise highway. The company disputes the order to include the Metalist in the register of cultural heritage and requires to cancel all restrictions on the use of the site.
