Permyak was sentenced to correctional labor for an unpublished photo on the Immortal Regiment website
The Perm Regional Court sentenced student Daniil Shestakov to nine months of hard labor for trying to post a photo of General Vlasov on the website of the Immortal Regiment. This was reported by the head of the International Human Rights Group "Agora" Pavel Chikov.
The young man was found guilty under a criminal article on the public dissemination of information expressing clear disrespect for society about the days of military glory related to the defense of the Fatherland (part 3 of article 354.1 of the Criminal Code). The representative of the prosecutor's office during the judicial debate requested 10 months of corrective labor.
In addition, according to the court decision, the computer confiscated from Shestakov, as well as 15% of his salary, will go to the state.
According to the prosecutor's office, Shestakov "spread information expressing clear disrespect for society" when he applied for the publication of a photo of General Andrei Vlasov, "convicted of treason" in connection with defecting to Germany during the Great Patriotic War.
Shestakov's interests are represented in court by Agora's lawyer Aleksey Shardakov. The defender emphasized that the photo of Vlasov was never published on the site, and stated that the student must be acquitted. According to Shardakov, the photo was seen only by an employee who did not accept Shestunov's application for publication on the site.
