Satir writer, People's Artist of Russia Mikhail Zhvanetsky died in the 87th year of his life. This was reported by Open Media and the Rain TV channel.

Zhvanetsky was born in Odessa, after graduating from the Odessa Institute of Sea Fleet engineers in 1956, he worked in the Odessa Sea Trade Port mechanic, then an engineer in lifting and transport mechanisms at the Odessa Prodmash plant. In 1960, he went to work in the Central Design and Development Bureau. In 1967, he sharply changed his family, becoming an artist of the conversational genre, then - an assistant to the main director of the Odessa Miniature Theater.

In the early 80s he worked at the publishing house "Young Guard". Since 1988 - the artistic director of the Moscow Theater of Miniatures created by him. The author of several books. Cavalier of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" of the III degree and the Order of Friendship. People's Artist of Ukraine, Laureate of the Independent Prize "Triumph". He was president of the Odessa World Club.

Zhvanetsky belongs to many common aphorisms, well -known sketches and miniatures shown on Soviet and Russian television. In October 2020, the writer’s representative said that he completed concert activities. “Artists need to have the courage to leave the stage in time. They need to age at home,” he said then.
