American stock indices at the opening of trading on November 9 rose to record daily values after the news about the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer.
Thus, the S&P 500 (it includes the 505 largest companies by capitalization whose shares are traded on the US stock exchanges) rose to 3634 points (+3.6%) 15 minutes after the opening of trading.
Dow Jones industrial average (covers 30 largest US companies) - up to 29,757 points (+5.1%). Nasdaq (high-tech stocks) rose 0.8% to 11,989 points.
As noted by Business Insider, shares of airlines and financial sector companies rose in price first of all. Stocks such as Netflix and Zoom Video Communications, on the contrary, fell in price.
So, Zoom shares fell 20% on news about the vaccine, Netflix shares fell 4.6%. Also fell, for example, the shares of the video game developer Activision Blizzard (minus almost 1.6%)
