iPhone 12 Pro Max is the largest and most advanced phone in Apple history

In general, I do not really like big phones, although a couple of years ago I switched from the average iPhone 6s to a huge (according to my sensations) iPhone XS Max. I did it purely for practical reasons: I wanted a bigger battery and better a camera. Later, by inertia, he switched to 11 Pro Max. I put up with the size, but I was not used to it to the end: I still pull the phone out of the pocket of the winter jacket to tie the laces (otherwise the iPhone painfully rises into the chest). And, perhaps, only with the output of the iPhone 12 Pro Max, I realized that it is unlikely that I would ever exchange a “shovel” for a compact 12 mini or another device with a similar form factor. The disadvantages of large phones, of course, have not gone anywhere, just without the possibilities of a pro-series, I will already feel uncomfortable.

The first thing that pleasantly surprised at 12 Pro Max is the screen. Not even like that: screen! With a diagonal of 6.7 inches versus 6.5 on my 11 Pro Max. This is the largest display in the history of Apple phones. On paper it seems that the display was increased just a little, in reality, the added millimeters are noticeable immediately. The screen became in a good way more, despite the fact that the phone itself remained as easy - 226 grams. This effect is emphasized by an updated design with flat rectangular faces in the style of classic iPhones of the iPhone 4 and 5. Paradox: last year’s 11 Pro Max, as in the new model, the Super Retina XDR display is installed. And even so the screen of the twelfth “Prophas” still for some reason causes a wow effect. On the first evening, I just watched films and TV shows on Netflix and played games with Xbox Series X for streaming - there the feeling of expanding space only intensified.

During testing, I used a gold -colored model. Live, he seemed to me too pale and inexpressive, especially in the indoor light. The blue iPhone 12 Pro, which replaced the dark green color in last year’s Pro-line, looked much more beautiful-though in the room light it becomes grayish (12 Pro Max will also be available in this color; and also in graphite and silver).

Subjective and possibly strange observation: the 12 Pro line models are very pleasant to iron along the back panel, almost more pleasant than the iPhone 11 Pro - although the glass in them is the same. I don’t want to put new iPhones into the cover! Judging by the experience of using 12 and 12 Pro, this will still have to be done so as not to scratch the screen. You can reassure yourself by the fact that in a case, at least there will not be visible prints on the branded faces of new iPhones (alas).

Together with 12 Pro Max, I managed to test the Magsafe wallet - these are accessories working on magnets. Such a wallet is attached to the magnets on the rear panel of the phone and works even with a cover. You can put a little cash or a bank card there. Honestly, I still did not understand why, in principle, I might need a wallet on magnets. Firstly, from time to time it slides into your pocket when you take out a phone from jeans or pants (this happens in about one case of five). Secondly, I just do not like cash and do not carry bank cards with me. I have an iPhone and Apple Watch, it’s easier to pay them. Thirdly, it is more difficult to admire the phone with a primagnetic wallet. Of course, provided that you wear it without a case.

Well, now to the main thing, which stands out 12 Pro Max, even against the background of just 12 Pro, to the camera. This is the perfect phone for crooked photographers like me. Do not pay attention to the Pro console. Of course, Apple promotes “pricks” as devices for those who are engaged in professional shooting. But magic, in my opinion, is different. On modern iPhones, you can simply press the button and immediately get a normal picture without any effort and additional processing. Even if you do not know anything at all and do not understand in the photo. The device does everything for you: selfies automatically become beautiful, the horizon straightens, and neural networks correct the light and shadows without your participation. And all this works especially well at 12 Pro Max, because it was this iPhone that received an improved camera system with a new sensor and matrix.

If you do not go into technical descriptions, everything sounds simple: the senior “Proshka” captures even more light during shooting, which means that even less noise comes out in the photo. Distortion of the lens on a wide -angle lens is less noticeable. From a telephoto even more benefit - now this camera increases by 2.5 times, and not two. The Deep Fusion algorithm, which allows you to take ultra-cover photos using neural networks, finally works on all four cameras. Night mode too. And - Hurray! - You can make portraits in the dark. This is what I managed to achieve with the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The pictures were taken in the area of ​​nine in the evening using a night regime, I specially did not process anything.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max can be bought in Russia from November 13. The cheapest version with 128 gigabytes of memory will cost almost 110 thousand rubles, the most expensive with 512 gigabytes - almost 140 thousand rubles. The headphones and the charging adapter to the iPhone will have to be purchased separately - they will not be included.
