During the debate in the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky City Court, the prosecutor demanded that Jehovah's Witness Sergei Ledenev be sentenced to six years in prison in a general regime colony. The website “Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia” reports this.
The state prosecutor also requested one year of restriction of freedom for the believer.
Ledenev is being prosecuted under the article on organizing the activities of an extremist organization (Part 1 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code).
Ledenev is charged with holding “collective religious performances and services”, “distributing literature with extremist content”, “planned training in the tenets of the religious association “Jehovah’s Witnesses”, “viewing video materials of a prohibited religious structure”. On December 2, 2018, his place was searched.
