Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that he has contracted the coronavirus. According to him, he feels well and will continue to work remotely as usual. The head of the presidential office and two of his deputies also fell ill with COVID-19.

“There are no lucky people in the world for whom COVID-19 does not pose a threat. Despite all the quarantine measures, I also got a positive result,” Zelensky wrote on Facebook. He said that he has a temperature of 37.5, but in general he feels good. “I promise to isolate myself and keep working. Most have overcome COVID-19, and I will get through it too. Everything will be fine!" the president added.

Zelensky's office stressed that the president will be provided with everything necessary for remote work and will continue to perform his duties remotely.

The head of Zelensky's office, Andriy Yermak, also said that he had contracted the coronavirus and was going into self-isolation. He also feels fine and will continue to work remotely. “An online meeting of advisers to the leaders of the Normandy Four is scheduled for this week. This is one of my most important priorities, so there is no time to get sick at all, ”said Yermak.

At the end of October, two deputies of Yermak, Yulia Kovaliv and Andrey Smirnov, fell ill with COVID-19. Kovaliv has already recovered, her last test was negative, and she has already gone to work in the office, Zelensky's press service noted. The rest of the president's office employees are regularly tested for coronavirus.

Zelensky is not the first world leader to contract COVID-19. US President Donald Trump, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Presidents of Belarus and Brazil Alexander Lukashenko and Jair Bolsonaro, Prince Albert II of Monaco have already been ill.
