Actor Mikhail Efremov, convicted in the case of the accident on the Garden Ring, will serve his sentence in IK-4 in the Belgorod Region, where football players Alexander Kokorin and Pavel Mamaev were imprisoned. This was reported by Efremov's lawyer.

According to the defense attorney, on November 10, Efremov was transferred to the Belgorod region. Before being sent to the penal colony, he will spend 20 days in quarantine in a pretrial detention center.

Kokorin and Mamaev were sentenced to 18 and 17 months in prison, respectively, in connection with two fights in Moscow that took place in November 2018. The footballers were released in October 2019 after 11 months of imprisonment, of which they spent just over three months in prison.
The trial of Efremov was presided over by the same judge, Elena Abramova, who heard the case of Kokorin and Mamaev.
At the end of October, the Moscow Public Monitoring Commission stated that Efremov wanted to serve his sentence in a Moscow pretrial detention center, where he was placed immediately after the verdict (this is possible with the consent of the pretrial detention center management). Why this did not happen in the end is unclear.
