Another obvious candidate was the word “coronavirus”, but the creators chose “Lokdown”, since not the disease itself influenced the life of people, but its social consequences. Four more words related to the pandemia got into the short list: Social Distancing (Social distance), Self-Islate (self-invalid), FURLOGH (forced paid leave) and KEYWORKERS (irreplaceable employees). And four more words that are in no way connected with Covid .
