The 7th Cassation Court of General Jurisdiction overturned the sentence of Leonid Ladanov, a resident of the Perm Territory, who was fined 100,000 rubles for participating in the Memorial expedition to the cemetery of the repressed. This was reported by the Public Verdict Foundation, whose lawyer Sergei Kudymov participated in the defense of Ladanov.
Earlier in May, Magistrate Lyudmila Mokrushina found Leonid Ladanov guilty under the article on fictitious registration of foreign citizens (Article 322.2 of the Criminal Code) and imposed a fine. The defense appealed the verdict, but the Kudymkar City Court upheld it.
In cassation, the case was dismissed due to insignificance and due to the absence of corpus delicti in the act. In addition, the court recognized Ladanov's right to rehabilitation.
