After the launch took place, Lukashenko said in satisfaction: “Our country today becomes a nuclear power, it is a huge success, it is a crown, if you want, maybe the stage of the sovereignty and independence of our country. It indicates that we have brains, brainstream people, and there are reliable friends who helped create this unique object that will serve us for a very long time. ”

As for the nuclear power - let humanity not be scared, God does not give a vigorous cow. This is just a long -standing fantasy of Alexander Lukashenko.

When he talks about nuclear weapons, it sounds approximately the same as it is a question of relations with Russia. About Russia - from "we will protect our brothers from NATO" to "they will not be able to tilt us." Both no one in the world takes seriously. So with Uranus.

Several times Lukashenko claimed that nuclear raw materials were left in Belarus. For example, during a trip to the Gomel region in April 2010, he said: “I will not hide: we have a highly enriched uranium - hundreds of kilograms of actually weapons and less enriched. Some say to me: take out this uranium. Want to America, we will pay you, want to go to Russia. I say: firstly, why are you dictating to us, because this is our product. We contain it under the control of the IAEA. We are not going to make dirty bombs and are not going to sell someone. We use this uranium for research purposes. ” And after a few minutes - that the withdrawal of nuclear weapons from Belarus was a fierce mistake.

If someone seriously reacted to the words of Alexander Lukashenko, he would surely say that the Belarusian Uranus is the Cat of Schrödinger, who is in superposition and at the same time exists and does not exist. True, nuclear physicists-for example, the first head of independent Belarus, Stanislav Shushkevich-explained that there is no technology in Belarus for enriching uranium, and there is no highly enriched uranium here, except that dirty, used for experiments. But such uranium cannot be weapons, and the research reactor was completely stopped in 1998. Everything is so. But fantasies about the nuclear superpower have not gone anywhere.

Now they are fed by nuclear power plants, built on the border with Lithuania by Russian experts. Construction began without a reference project, expertise and consent of Lithuania - this was written about this hundreds of times, including “new”. Lithuanian scientists explained: since the nuclear power plant is located higher than the Neris River, which should cool the reactors and water will have to pump up, any pump malfunction can violate the flow of water and lead to an accident. Now the Lithuanian authorities are calling for residents of 16 municipalities located 100 kilometers from the Belarusian nuclear power plant, to come to pharmacies for free pills of iodide potassium, purchased in advance, even before the station commissioning.

However, you can not rush: it does not work. The representative of the NPP information center on Tuesday confirmed Interfax that the “replacement of certain equipment” is required to restore energy production. And Rosatom is already conducting negotiations with Lukashenko on the construction of the second nuclear power plant in Belarus.

The self -proclaimed Alexander Lukashenko is not at all the one with whom at all should be negotiated. Whatever he sign, he will remain as illegitimate as he himself.

And here is what Belarusian environmentalists are talking about now: to launch nuclear power plants, like any other potentially dangerous object, during revolutions or political crises, is not just irresponsible, but also criminal. Firstly, all the forces of the response that could be used to eliminate a possible accident are suppressing protests. And secondly, in a blazing country where a retired tyrant uses weapons against citizens, nuclear power plants can also easily become weapons. And do not say that all this is possible only theoretically.
