MTS virtual SIM cards have become available to Siberians

MTS started pilot operation of eSIM technology. Siberians have access to remote eSIM connection without visiting communication stores and courier delivery.

You can buy an eSIM online. To activate a SIM card, it is enough to read the QR code or follow the link that will appear on the screen of the gadget and be duplicated by e-mail, the press service of the operator reports.

Users who cannot register an electronic SIM card on their own can purchase an eSIM at a number of MTS sales offices and M.Video stores.

eSIM is a chip in a device that works like an electronic SIM card. The module is embedded in the production of smartphones, tablets, watches and other gadgets. The technology allows you to use the operator profile in devices with eSIM. Supported models include the latest Apple iPhone and iPad, Samsung Galaxy S20, Samsung Galaxy Note20, Huawei P40 and more. In real terms, devices with e-SIM accounted for 9% of the Russian market.

In the first nine months of 2020, 2.2 times more eSIM-enabled smartphones were purchased in Siberia than in the same period in 2019.
