The Sunzhensky District Court in Ingushetia sentenced a woman and her partner to 6 and 2.5 years in a strict regime colony, respectively, in a case of intentionally causing grievous bodily harm to a child (paragraph “a” of Part 3 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, from December 2018 to July 2019, a resident of the city of Sunzha, together with her partner, regularly beat her seven-year-old niece. In early July 2019, the girl was hospitalized due to her injuries. At the hospital, she was also diagnosed with fractures and gangrene of her arms, which forced doctors to amputate part of her right arm.
