Pavel Durov predicted the iPhone will lose the market in 10 years

Pavel Durov tried the new iPhone 12 Pro and decided that in 7–10 years, the share of Apple smartphones on the market would be negligible.

“Just tried the iPhone 12 Pro - what an incredibly bulky piece of iron. Looks and feels like an oversized version of the iPhone 5 from 2012, but with an ugly array of cameras sticking out at three different heights,” Durov wrote on his Telegram channel. The notorious notch and wide bezels create a low screen-to-body ratio and "an overall feel of a dated device," he says.

“Nine years after the death of Steve Jobs, the company is still living off the technology and reputation he built, with no meaningful innovation. Not surprisingly, iPhone sales dropped 21% earlier this year. If this trend continues, then in 7–10 years the share of the global iPhone market will be insignificant,” Durov added.
