Khakassia: The former head of the region Viktor Zimin died

In Moscow, the former head of Khakassia, Viktor Zimin, had previously been diagnosed with Koronavirus. This was reported by the 19rus.info publication with reference to a source close to the environment of the former official.

Zimin died at five in the morning Moscow time. “The body could not cope with the severe form of pneumonia, the lungs could not stand it,” the publication said.

Before Zimin was identified by Covid-19, he was on a working visit in the Far East.

Zimin worked as deputy general director of Russian Railways, the head of the Directorate of Railway Development of the Eastern training ground.

Zimin was hospitalized in August after infection with coronavirus. In mid -September, it was reported that he fell to someone. Then officially the information was not confirmed. All this time he was in a military hospital in Moscow.

• Victor Zimin was born in 1962. He graduated from the Tomsk State Architectural and Construction University. He worked in the field of construction.
• In 2003, Zimina was elected to the Supreme Council of Khakassia, in 2007 he became a deputy of the State Duma, and the very next year he became the head of the republic.
• In 2018, representing United Russia, Viktor Zimin in the first round lost the election of the head of the region deputy of the City Council of Abakan from the Communist Party Valentin Konovalov. Zimin refused to participate in the second round. In the second round of Konovalov, more than half of the voting inhabitants supported, he became one of the youngest governors in the country.
