A participant in the protest against the Platon system was again charged with assault on a police officer

On November 23, the Investigative Committee again charged Mikhail Vedrov, a member of the Association of Carriers of Russia and a participant in a protest against the Platon system, with the use of violence against a government official (part 1 of article 318 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by a lawyer from OVD-Info Sergey Telnov.

Vedrov is currently under house arrest. The day before, he was summoned to the Investigative Committee, where, within an hour, he was first charged with one charge, and then another with minor changes.

“Yesterday, the charge was brought for the second time, and half an hour later the investigator changed his mind and decided to file a third time,” says lawyer Sergei Telnov. “Investigators are making adjustments all the time. As a result, we settled on the third option, and it was announced to us that the investigation was over. It’s still the same article, just the vision of the investigation is changing before our eyes.”

Mikhail Vedrov is charged with attacking a traffic police officer, who on September 11 stopped one of the cars of a convoy of truckers.

“In the course of the IDPS check by Nikishin S. A. <...> the documents of the drivers <…> at Vedrov M. E., located near the house 66 along Kalinin Avenue in Tver, being dissatisfied with the legal actions of the IDPS Nikishin S. A., arose direct criminal intent aimed at the use of violence that is not dangerous to life and health against a representative of the authorities ... ”, the text of the accusation says.

The use of violence, according to the decision, is that Vedrov hit the inspector with his hand in the neck. At the same time, in the second charge brought against Vedrov on November 23, it is said that the man was driving in someone else's car, and in the third - that in his own.

As the truckers themselves, who witnessed the conflict, say, when asked by drivers about the reason for checking documents, the traffic police officer began to shout at them. After that, Vedrov was charged with attacking a policeman, based only on the testimony of guards.
