Petrozavodsk: The court extended the arrest of the historian Yuri Dmitriev

In the Petrozavodsk City Court on November 24, the third trial began over the head of the Karelian Memorial, historian Yuri Dmitriev, who is accused of the manufacture of children's pornography, depraved actions regarding a minor and storage of weapons.
- The Petrozavodsky City Court in the summer found Dmitriev to be guilty of sexual violence over the adopted daughter and sentenced the colony to 3.5 years. At the rest of the prosecution, he was justified. The court decision was appealed. During the new consideration, the historian was sentenced to 13 years in a maximum security colony.
- The court abolished the acquittal under articles on the manufacture of pornography, depraved actions and storage of weapons and sent them for a new consideration in the new composition of the court. According to these episodes, the historian can be added to the existing period of another 10 years.
- Yuri Dmitriev, along with colleagues in the 1990s, opened the tract Sandarmokh, where people were shot during the Great Terror. In total, about 150 grave pits were recorded and noted, in which about 4–4.5 thousand people could be located.
