The drug "spinraz" for the treatment of patients with spinal muscle atrophy (SMA) was introduced into the list of vital drugs. The corresponding order was signed by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, writes New Gazeta.
In total, 25 new names were included in the list. The order comes into force on January 1. From 2021, the treatment of children with the SMA will be funded by increasing personal income tax to 15 percent for people with an annual income of more than 5 million rubles.
Prior to the list of the purchase of Spinraza, it was assigned to the regions. At the same time, local officials in most cases refused to purchase it, citing a lack of money in the budget. One injection costs about 8 million rubles.
