© Tanya RaushOn December 11, an exhibition of painting by Tanya Raush “Eco” will open in the New Museum of Aslan Chekhoev in St. Petersburg.
According tothe museum’s website , the exposition will include about 40 paintings from the workshop of the St. Petersburg artist, as well as from private collections.
“The artist Tanya Raush considers her painting as“ genetic material, ”writes the curator of the exhibition Ekaterina Andreeva. - In its genetic code a very rare complex of professional skills: after graduating from the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin, she not only began to write pictures, but also engaged in the study of icon painting, participated in the restoration of the lost baroque painting of the Chesen Church of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist. "
“The artist is unusually selective in plots and in the style of her art. She writes portraits of adolescents from photographs when found when she himself is shot. Children look at the viewer, as they once looked even at the photographer, but at an incomprehensible point in the lens. Tanya Raush writes a strange, testing and at the same time defocated gaze, which you think not only of his direction, but also about where he comes from, feeling painting as an intermediary and at the same time the barrier between times and realities, ”the curator notes.
The exhibition of Tanya Raush "Eco" in the new Museum of Aslan Chekhoev will last until January 17, 2021 .
