The court canceled the fine under the article on petty hooliganism for the defender of the Kuntsevo square

The Kuntsevsky District Court of Moscow canceled the fine and sent for a new trial the case of petty hooliganism against the defender of the square in the Kuntsevo district, Savely Rozhkov. This was reported by lawyer Vasily Kushnir, who represented the interests of the activist in court on behalf of OVD-Info.

The court took into account the fact that the activist was brought to justice without a thorough investigation. The case was returned back, however, since the statute of limitations under the article on petty hooliganism (part 1 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) expires on November 29, the police are unlikely to be able to impose a fine again.

The activist was detained and fined on September 29, the decision was made by the head of the local police officers. Savely Rozhkov appealed against the fine in the district court. At the meeting, his interests were represented by a lawyer from OVD-Info, Vasily Kushnir.

• Savely Rozhkov is a Kuntsevo activist. In 2018, he was fined 150,000 rubles due to the fight against construction.

• The Moscow authorities are planning to build up a park on Ivan Franko Street in the Kuntsevo district in order to reconstruct the northern understudy of Kutuzovsky Prospekt. The construction of the route should be completed by December 2021. According to Moscow officials, this 11-kilometer toll highway will become a continuation of the Northern Bypass of the city of Odintsovo and will make it more comfortable to enter the toll understudy of the M-1 Belarus highway, as well as improve transport accessibility of the Dorogomilovo, Fili-Davydkovo, Mozhaisky, Kuntsevo and Filevsky Park.
