A court in Crimea has extended the arrests of seven defendants in new Hizb ut-Tahrir cases.

On November 26 and 25, the Kiev District Court of Simferopol extended the terms of detention in a pre-trial detention center and under house arrest for seven defendants in new Hizb ut-Tahrir cases. This was reported by the Crimean Solidarity movement.

So, the third group disabled person Zekirya Muratov’s arrest was extended for six months, until May 17, 2021. According to his lawyer Lilya Gemidzhi, the investigation into Muratov's case has already been completed and submitted for consideration to the Southern District Military Court of Rostov-on-Don.

“Now he is kept in a quarantine cell and this significantly affects his health. Taking into account the recommendations of the WHO, in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, it would be advisable to leave him under house arrest. Considering that all his passports were confiscated, that he has close social ties in Crimea, Muratov has no real estate on the territory of foreign countries, and also that he did not make any attempts to hide from the investigation, from the court, ”said Gemedzh and .

The rest of the defendants in the next criminal cases of Hizb ut-Tahrir - Vadim Bektemirov , Ismet Ibragimov , Alim Sufyanov and Seyran Khayredinov , Alexander Sizikov and Emil Ziyadinov - were extended until March 1 or 2, 2021. Alexander Sizikov, who is a disabled person of the first group due to complete blindness, was left under house arrest.

Lawyer Lilya Gemedzhi said that Sufyanov and Khayredinov, while in custody, had been ill with a coronavirus infection, and in connection with this they had complications.

“Alim Sufyanov developed dermatological complications, he has rashes on the skin of his hands, presumably it is herpes. No adequate treatment is provided to him in the pre-trial detention center. Seyran Hayredinov also has complications in the gastrointestinal tract after an illness, ”Krymskaya Solidarity quotes the lawyer as saying.

Many of the defendants have young children. A specialist in the field of Islamic sciences Vadim Bektemirov and Seyran Hayredinov left three children in their families.
