The arrest of the ex-prosecutor of Novosibirsk was appealed

The arrest of the former prosecutor of Novosibirsk Denis Ferenz, accused of abuse of authority, was appealed. Previously, he was put into custody until January.

“On November 27, 2020, the Central District Court of Novosibirsk received an appeal against the court order of November 25, 2020 on the election of a preventive measure in the form of detention in relation to the accused Ferenz,” the court said.

The ex-prosecutor was sent to the pre-trial detention center until January 13, 2021. He is suspected under Part 1 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code (abuse of authority). Earlier, until January 13, the former head of the Department for Supervision of the Federal Legislation of the Prosecutor's Office of the region Alexander Averin was arrested. She is charged with Art. 306 of the Criminal Code (aiding in knowingly false denunciation).
