Actor David Prowse, who played Darth Vader, has died

British actor and former bodybuilder David Prowse, best known for his role as Darth Vader in Star Wars, has died at the age of 85, according to Sky News.

• David Prowse played Darth Vader in the classic Star Wars trilogy - A New Hope in 1977, The Empire Strikes Back in 1980 and Return of the Jedi in 1983. He was voiced by James Earl Jones.
• The actor also starred in Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange, the horror films Vampire Circus, Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell, and others. On British television, he is also known as the hero of the Green Cross Code social advertising campaign for the safety of children on the roads.
• David Prowse won the British Weightlifting Championship three times and also represented England at the 1962 Commonwealth Games in Australia.
