On November 25, the Nagaibaksky District Court of the Chelyabinsk Region awarded local official Lyudmila Kobeleva, a member of United Russia , five thousand rubles in compensation for moral damages for the comment “stop being a jerk.” This was reported by “ Vskhody ” and Znak.com .
In addition, the court ordered the author of the comment, ex-deputy of the district assembly from A Just Russia , Alexander Tepteev, to apologize.
On July 21, Tepteev left a comment under the article “Sprouts,” in which the deputy head of the district for social issues spoke out against holding it during a pandemic. The publication deleted this comment, but the official still filed a lawsuit for protection of honor and dignity.
“I don’t need this money, I will give it to an orphanage, but punishing a person who considers it possible to insult people on social networks and thinks that this can be done with impunity was a matter of principle. Please, let him write his opinion, let him criticize the authorities, but all this should be without insults or personal attacks,” says Kobeleva.
Tepteev intends to appeal the court's decision. “I wanted to write “kobenitsya”, but it turned out “kobelitsya”, I used this word in the meaning of “show off”, since I believed that the official’s opinion on this issue was not appropriate, since all the issues had already been settled with the head and the Ministry of Sports. If it weren’t for the last name, no one would have paid attention to this mistake,” Tepteev said.
