Former acting The Minister of Health of the Irkutsk Region, Natalya Ledyaeva, was detained in a criminal case of fraud on an especially large scale (part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code) due to the supply of medical masks using forged documents. This was reported on the website of the Investigative Committee.
The investigation established that from May to October, Ledyaeva, her son and “other persons” stole 25 million rubles during the execution of a state contract for the supply of medical masks and respirators.
According to the Investigative Committee, the minister oversaw the conclusion of an agreement between the department and a company associated with her son. At the same time, Ledyaeva knew that the company was going to supply medical products that “did not meet the conditions” of the government contract and had not passed state registration. As a result, the delivery took place.
“In order to give the appearance of legality to the completed delivery, the supplied goods were accompanied by registration certificates for other medical products,” the release noted. The company was “unreasonably” paid 25 million rubles from the regional budget, the Investigative Committee concluded.
Ledyaeva's house was searched. “The issue of choosing a preventive measure for her is being decided,” the department added.
In mid-October, Ledyaeva’s son Ilya Belousov was detained . Then the investigation reported that a businessman from Angarsk, Alexey Sorokin, supplied medical products to the Irkutsk ambulance station and several city hospitals using forged documents. Investigators estimated the amount of damage to the regional budget at 40 million rubles. The investigation did not reveal Belousov’s role. According to IRK.ru, the minister’s son was suspected of complicity in creating a criminal scheme aimed at illegal enrichment.
After her son was detained, Ledyaeva went on sick leave. On November 12 it became known that she resigned from her post as minister.
