The person accused of attempted murder of Georgian presenter Giorgi Gabunia, who swore at President Vladmir Putin on the air of the Rustavi 2 TV channel, used a fake passport. This is stated on the website of the State Security Service of Georgia.
In June, the intelligence service reported the detention of 38-year-old Vasambek Bokov on charges of forgery of documents (Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Georgia). Now the security forces have said that the man used a fake passport and his real name is Magomed Gutsiev.
In addition, the intelligence services accused him of “systematic” surveillance of the journalist. On November 27, Gutsiev was charged with new charges: stalking (Part 1 of Article 151 of the Criminal Code of Georgia), infringement of personal information (Part 1 of Article 157 of the Criminal Code of Georgia) and illegal border crossing (Article 344 of the Criminal Code of Georgia). The TV presenter was recognized as a victim in the case.
Nika Gvaramia, general director of the Mtavari Arkhi television company, where Gabunia works, assured that the accused has accomplices.
“According to my source, Bokov is not a killer, Bokov is a member of a group studying routes. Accordingly, he must certainly have an accomplice. I handed over to the investigative authorities in the presence of a magistrate judge the information I possess. According to my information, the Gabunia route has been studied for a long time,” said the head of the television company.
After the arrest of the accused Nick, Gvaramia claimed that the mastermind of the murder was the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov.
“If someone acts on my instructions, he will carry it out, and if the task must be carried out quietly, then no one, and especially your countries that are in deep stagnation, will not know about it,” Kadyrov commented on these accusations.
“Grani.ru” found Magomedov Gutsiev, who was born in Grozny, in “Russian bases” - this man, “judging by his passport photo, is very similar to the man arrested in Georgia,” the publication writes. The face comparison function of the Microsoft Azure service showed their similarity by 74%. “ That is, there is one person in front of us,” journalists say.
According to Grani.ru, Gutsiev from Grozny has been on the federal wanted list for murder since 2008 (Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code), and he was put on the international wanted list only after the arrest of “Vasambek Bokov” in Georgia.
