For the first time, a woman will become the chief referee of a Champions League match, according to the official website of UEFA.
French referee Stephanie Frappart will serve as the chief referee for the match between Juventus Turin and Dynamo Kyiv on December 1.
- In the Champions League matches, women have previously worked as line and reserve referees.
- In August 2019, Frappart was the referee for the UEFA Super Cup match between Chelsea and Liverpool. Since the 2020/2021 season, she has been regularly refereeing the matches of the French championship.
