Employees of the Russian embassy in Kabul received minor contusions after their car was blown up by an improvised explosive device. This was announced by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
Zakharova said that, according to preliminary estimates, the pickup truck of the Afghan National Security Forces with military personnel on board was moving in front of the diplomatic vehicle.
At the same time, she noted that the direction of the terrorist attack against Russian citizens cannot be ruled out, and stated the need for a thorough investigation of the incident and ensuring security.
As RIA Novosti was informed at the embassy, the injured employees of the diplomatic mission did not require hospitalization.
